Our readers may remember that Baron Manfred von Kliling- er, who at this writing ia the German Ambassador in Bucha¬ rest and who may soon be the Nazi Gauleiter for the Nazi prov¬ ince of Rumania, only a few years ago was a resident of this country, as one ot Hitler's con¬ sular represenlativea . . . Kil- linger. Incidentally, - it credited with having been one ot the as¬ sassins ot Waiter Rathenau, the Jewish foreign minister of the late German Republic, back in 1922 . , . Hitler hlttles at Amer¬ ica in every speech nowadays, and in general doesn't evince too much respect for this coun¬ try—but when a Jew in Hitler- ruled Poland succeeds in getting his American Immigralion visa the Nazis don't let him out till he's plunked down one thousand good American dollars for his exit visa . . . Battening on the blood of Europe, Hitler has grown quite stout in the course of the last few years (though of course he still -doesn't come to the class of Goering) ..s, . Will Judge Yehudah Halevi Contest
The well-known author, Mau¬ rice Samuel (left). Prof. Shalom Spiegel of the Jewish Institute of Religion (center) and Prof. Harry A. Wolfson of Harvard University (right) will be the judges in the #rlze Essay con¬ test on "Yehudah Halevi—Sing¬ er of Zion" according to an an¬ nouncement made by Rabbi Sam¬ uel M. Hadassah Members To Participate In Study Group Discussion
A Model Study Group, led by Rabbi Lee J. Levinger, in which four members will participate, Is on the program for the Feb¬ ruary meeting of the Columbus Chapter of Hadassah next Tues day, Feb. 18, at 2 p. m., at the Bryden Road Temple.

Former Berlin Rabbi To Speak At Bryden Rd. Temple Sunday
Once the eminent Rabbi ot the Berlin Jewish Congregation, a very large and substantial synagogue in the capital of Ger¬ many, now a Professor on the Faculty of the Hebrew Union College, for the past year. Dr. Max Wiener will be the guest of the Bryden Road- Temple Brotherhood and Sister¬ hood at a congregational get- together this Sunday night, Feb. 16, at 8 o'clock. Dr, Wiener's subject win be, "The American- Jewish Scene."
