The last campaign of the Jew¬ ish Welfare Fund was held in September, 1041, when .some .«,'I85,(I00 was raised. For its in¬ clusion in the War C'hest it i.s a.sking ony .$.'!.'i0.flOO, the balance being for local and national civir-protective agencies. The of¬ ficers of the Jewish.Communily Council felt that these agencies could not ask for support from the communily at large and a separate campaign will he con- ducle<l for Ihese purposes. In that section of the indict¬ ment (]Uoling, at length, the arguments used V)y the defend¬ ants to defame ami vilify Ameri¬ can Government officials, one citation is: "The public officials of the United States are plan¬ ning to mingle the blood of Negroes, criminals and Jews with that of Christian-American soldiers and sailors by the means of Iransfusion-s and so-called ¦blood' hanks' wilh the deliber¬ ate intent and puriMise of cor¬ rupting the blood of the said Chri-sIlan-American soldien. and .sailors." The Grand Jurors also look note of excerpts from speeches, slogans and other allegations di¬ rected at the American Gov¬ ernment and the United Nations placing responsibility for the war on ihem. One of the cita¬ tions was; "The British and French I not the people, hut their Jewish overlordsl opened the war by declaring it againsi Germany in September, 11)31)." Another was: "One must not be deceived by the pacific hu- manllaranlsm of the vocabulary of the White House.
