WASHINGTON (JPS)—In re¬ ply to a request by a group of labor leaders that the United Nations admit to all territories under their control Jewish refu- gees who escape from Axis- dominated Europe, it was report¬ ed here that Secretary of State Cordell Hull Indicated his ap¬ proval of the Initiative taken by organized American labor and said he would do all that wa.s po.ssible to alleviate the suffer, ing of European Jewry. The request was presented in the form of a Joint statement signed by William Green, Presi¬ dent of the American Federation of Labor; David Dublnsky. Presi. dent of the International Ladies Garment Workfers Union; Adolph Held, Chairman of the Jewi.sh Labor Comfnlfttee, and Philip Murray, President of the Cong¬ re.ss of Industrial Organizations. WASHINGTON (JPS)—In re¬ ply to a request by a group of labor leaders that the United Nations admit to all territories under their control Jewish refu- gees who escape from Axis- dominated Europe, it was report¬ ed here that Secretary of State Cordell Hull Indicated his ap¬ proval of the Initiative taken by organized American labor and said he would do all that wa.s po.ssible to alleviate the suffer, ing of European Jewry. The request was presented in the form of a Joint statement signed by William Green, Presi¬ dent of the American Federation of Labor; David Dublnsky. Presi. dent of the International Ladies Garment Workfers Union; Adolph Held, Chairman of the Jewi.sh Labor Comfnlfttee, and Philip Murray, President of the Cong¬ re.ss of Industrial Organizations. It urged the United States Gov¬ ernment to reiterate It.s warnings to all tho.se "guilty of aiding the Nazi leaders In their Inhuman campaign of exterminating the defenseless Jewish population of Europe, that they will be held accountable as war criminals and will be punl.shed for every Innocent life they have taken".
