The musical comedy, "My Wife's
Mother," which I* to b* presented in
Lorain tomorrow evening, will alto be
played at the Amherat opera house
on Monday evening, July 8, by the Lo*
rain Musical Comedy Players. Thit
organisation Is composed entirely of
Lorain talent, who are striving for
cleaning and better ahowa ln Lorain
and other neighboring towns.

changes of costumes in the play. It
la being put on by the IM} Producing Company of Columbus, Ohio.

Eighty members of the Lorain Couu-
tly Farm Bureau visited the Wooster
State Experiment Farm Tuesday,
making the trip by automobile The
delegation waa in charge of County
Agent Howard Rogers, and be reports

A member of Bxperlmeat Station
waa delegated to go with the party
and explain what was to ta seen. They
had a took at the crop* on the farm,
the fruits and vegetables se well as
th* live stock. Th* various processes
snd experiment* new under way were
explained in detail.
At noon a picnic dinner waa held
on the form, many of tho party having packed their lunch basket. Tbe
entire day waa consumed In the trip.
Later on, possibly in tbe early tall,
another trip will be mad* for the
purpose of inspecting the orchards
and vineyard* on tbe form, reports

1928 Chautauqua season which Is to
open here July 24 snd run until July
88.
Although the Chautauqua committee have not met, several of the members have been looking for a tent alt*
but have been unable to tad one m
yet. Efforts are being made to And
a locality near town so as to make it
possible for everyone in town to attend each session without extra aad
unnecessary  travel.
The advance agent of th* Redpath
Chautauqua will be In Amherst Saturday, July 1st, and It Is planned to
hold a meeting in the town ball at
that time. Officers will be elected aad
every interested citizen Is urged to
be present.
It Is also planned to hsve tbe tickets on sale as soon as the advance
ugent makea the necessary arrangements wltb the local committee here
on Saturday.
Among the beadllners of the five
day program are Alton Packard, nationally famous cartoon lat; the Festival Mixed Quartet ot Chicago.
"Friendly Enemies," a twentieth century comedy drama, with * cast of
six New York players; the Columbus
Entertainers, introducing saxophone,
violin, piano and dramatic numbers:
Princess Te-Ata and ber Indian
friends; William Rainy Bennett,
known as "the man who can," aad
Charles H. Plsttenburg of "Community" fame.
One of the outstanding novelties of
Chatauqua week wilt be the Oro*)e*a
Marimba-Xylophone Compeay. This
organisation wilt appear on the opening day with a vocal and Instrumental
combination tbat is sura to create
chautauqua enthusiasm.
Geoffrey F. Morgan of New York,
and Cotton Noe, of Kentucky University, are lecturers who will have las-
portant places on the program. It Is
a striking feature of the 1988 line-up.

A regular meeting of the Hickory
Tree grange was bold In the I. O. O.
F. hall Tuesday night, at which time
nineteen members were present. On
account of th* small attendance little business waa transacted.
Frank Blleaberger, candidate for
clork of courts, was present and delivered a short addreaa. His subject wm
of internet to farmers .and waa greatly
appreciated by all preaent.
Members of the Lorain County Qua
club are making plans to hold a prise
shoot July 4 at Elyria.
There will be money prltet and all
eventi will be shot oa the handicap
system, giving every shooter a fair
chance to get in on the cash prises.
Every shooter is invited, whether
he Is a good, tad or Indifferent shot.
Tbe grounds will be put in good shape
and everything will ta in readiness to
start shooting promptly at • o'clock.
Shooters from Lorain, Amherst and
LaOrange are expected. An Invitation
is extended to spectators as wall as
shooters.
The regular shoot will ta held Saturday, July 1, at 8:89 p. m.
"No luck," says Claire Stlwald. promoter and manager of the Stlwald
Shoes baseball team, when they lost
a ten-Inning game to tbe Ramblers of
Lorain at the East Side field, Lorain.
.Sunday afternoon, after leading the
scorlnx until the eighth inning.
The game was practically a pitchers' battle, each burler fanning eleven
men in the ten Innings played.
The Loralnites scored in the first
Inning and kept the locals down until
the fifth Inning when Amherst crossed
the home plate for the first time In
the game. Amherst again crossed the
plate In the sixth, which put them in
a one run lead. The Lorain outfit tied
the score in the eighth, which left s
tie, 8-8, at the end of the ninth inning.
A single by Wargo, of the Loraiu outfit, with two men on bases, brought
in th* winning run for th* Lorain
tesm.

A new bicycle belonging to Donald
I'ankoff or Harris street was stoton
shortly after nine o'clock Monday
night. The boy left his bicycle Mend
in front of the Park garage and went
in to see bis father, who was there at
the time.
Mrs. Hugo Pankoff, who wa* at the
home of Charles Good on Cleveland
avenue, saw a group of boy* rid* hy
the tbe house ln the direction of Pen
field Junction and one of the boy*
was riding a new bicycle sad wee
leading another. Mra. PaakoeT f«>
raarked that it looked like her son's
wheel and started to look for him. She
found him at the garage aad aaked
hira where the wheel waa, and when
he went to get It It was gone. The
police were notified but no trace ef
the boys was found.
