Description	A letter of condolence and an invitation to Ada Young from Anna Furniss inviting Mrs. Young to come and visit during her time of bereavement after the death of Col. Charles Young. Col. Charles Young was the first African American to reach the rank of Colonel in the U.S. Army. In 1918, after being forced into retirement, due to health concerns, he rode on horseback from Wilberforce, Ohio to Washington D.C. to prove his physical fitness for duty.
