Friend Rotch
I should have answered your
letter of march 1st before this had I not
considered that it was possible for me to do with
out the favour which I had asked of you.
Brother Jacob not haveing received the money
for his Land as he expected leaves my wants the
same as before. therefore if its in your power
I wish you to accomodate me to such an extent
as your friends in New York will permit-
the money I owe in N York is to be paid
to Francis Lyman & the amount which
I owe him is L 220 stg which includes
interest & principle. you would oblige me
very much by paying some portion of the abo
-ve amount which would have the tendency
to stay his wrath untill I could sell my
Wool & collect some debs I have due in
this country. the above sum is all I owe east
of the Mountain- therefore notwithstanding
my Sheep business is poor you need have no
apprehention of my inability to pay you or
gain the earliest compliance possible
in the above business would be most desirable
