friend Roach
It being my intention to establish a tannery
in some friends settlement in the state of Ohio providing
I could get sufficient business to make it an object
as that would in the source of a few years increase
so as to afford sufficient employment for a small yard
I was speaking to thy friend Jacob Barker this
morning on the subject but he could not inform me
wether thee had one in thy neighborhood or not
at the same time he requested me to write to thee
for information wich I have taking the liberty to do.
I can produce a small capital perhaps half what
would be sufficient to set up a yard and curriering
shop adequate to a country place, as likewise
satisfactory recommendations respecting charictor and
qualifications please to write to me on receiving this
letter the situation of thy settlement the distance
from pitsburg and from the head of navigation
pleas to direct thy letter to the care of Richard M. Bowne
no 146 pearl Street and thee will oblige thy friend
Thomas Roach Josian L Bowne
PS by writing to thy friends in this city for information
respecting me I would refer them to Richard M Bowne
