Esteemed Friend
Thomas Rotch
I write some time since to Jonathan
Mitchner,(and I think something to thee) respecting
the payment of the Taxes on 120 acres (I supposs it
will be taxes 2nd rate)land [illegible]
paid off Joining the Eastern [illegible] of Section
No 25 by a line parallel to said boundary to be run so
far west as includes the 120.- I should be very willing
to sell it for a reasonable price that would be considered
low, and was in hopes I should have heard from
Milchner or thy self or both before this time: My letter
however may have miscarried. --It was written in
answer to one I recieved from Jon, Mitchner telling me
that there was probably an opportunity of selling
this land. and telling him or you that I wished to
sell but requested information respecting your opin
ion of the Value and what could probably be obtain
ed for it. - I send by Micajah Dillingham $1.37
which I suppose will pay the taxes due on the part
I have paid for. If thyself Ervine or nay person
will pay it and send me a receipt by Micajah or other
wise I would cheerfully make up any deficiency, and
consider it an additional favour.-
Micajah & Elizabeth Dillingham are now with us on
their return from Aron Browns. I am much pleased
to see each of them as we think so well married
he has I think justly established a good Charac-
ter for Industry Stability and general good conduct
which I am satisfied he is and will be found worthy of
