Dear Friend Trenton 5 mo 10,1815
I wrote thee some time since and have
been expecting an answer from thee
but have not been favor'd as yet with one.
I am and have been for some time confined
to my Chamber by sickness and getting better
at this time, but have been very ill. I
think it caused by a Cold I got the last
kiln of bricks I burnt, my foreman was
gone to Philad and I being anxious that he
should do to suit me I was exposed to a N E storm
of wind and rain and the Steam of the Kiln for 12
Hours I was taken with violent pains in my Head
and Limbs but got into a sweat & trust I shall be
soon able to be in my yard again I have about
20 hands under me which Requires me to be
at the Head from sun to sun. I shall have
a kiln on fire next week again & expect of
100,000 I am anxious to hear from Charity not
having ever heard a word since I left you I
cannot think why you have not written I hope
