Esteemed Friend,
I arived here with my wife & children
only on the 8th instant much recruited in health
and strength; the day that I parted with thyself
& Jonathan Taylor I felt pretty much as I had since
the day previous, very little appetite for nourishmt.
of any kind, but traveled well reached Waynesville
the next morning & partook of a hearty breakfast
of boiled milk bread etc which food was the first
that I relished for several days before. I have since
been of opinion my complain was a touch of
what I called the sick stomach which in the neigh-
bourhood of Maddriver effects the inhabitants and
is sometimes fatal in a few days to persons
effected with it.
The purchase in Indiana was effected
I think on the 6th inst. including the Lands on southeast
side of the Wabash and from a point on that to Fort
Wayne, and also a tract on the West side between
the Vermilion And Tippecanoe Rivers extending 25 miles
from the Wabash, for which the Indians are to get
besides a reservation on the Wabash of 30 miles square, and a
number of smaller ones in different situations the Miamis
15000.$ annually, the Delawares 4000$ the Weas 1150$
