arrived here last evening ten days after leaving
Canton three days more shal probably get to Hartford
have had a pleasant time so far except for the overturning
of the Stage which was entirely owing to the carelessness
of the driver in turning round while going fast, there were
8 passengers in at the time and not one except a woman
with her young Child and myself escaped some hurt or
other one young man had a leg broken just above his
ankle, an elderly woman had her head badly cut and
otherwise very much bruised so that she was obliged
to stop on the way the rest were able to keep on, some
with ankles sprained etc, have I not cause to be thankfull
for the many preservations in times of danger that I have experienced
