My dear Sister Philadelphia 11th mo. 1807
Thy letter dated ye 17th of last mo was very interest=
=ing to my mind - & excited tender sympathy which my own
situation (tho in some respects different) - does not unfit me for;
enough of care, & exercise often devolving on me to make me
sensible of thy weary feelings. I am concerned on account of
thy weak state of health - & much desire thou may be favored with
the Quietude so desireable, & seemingly necessary for thee I suppose
dear brother Thomas was recover d by thy not mentioning him
particularly there was some mention made in a news Paper
of a disorder appearing in one of the Towns in Connecticut said
to baffle the Art of the Physicians from the account I had
comparing it with thine I thought it must be something
similar to that which Richards brother died of - & was appre=
=hensive it might be distinct from the Influenza - as it is a
Solemn & remarkable visitation should be glad if thou would
give me some further information on the subject hoping thy
health will be, or is, so restored that writing may not continue
a painful task I am much favor d myself in that
respect having a few weeks since regain d my Usual health
the threatening complaints which I mentioned in one of my letters
left me more suddenly than I had cause to expect and as
the Balsam of Honey was my last medicine for my Cough,
which was suddenly relieved after taking it agreeable to the
directions which come wrap d around the bottle I wish I had
