Subject	Family news; itinerant ministry
Description	The last of a series of 44 letters from Hannah Rodman Fisher in Philadelphia to her sister, Charity Rotch in Ohio. the date of the letter is approximate but uncertain. We do know that the Rotches made one return visit to New England via Philadelphia in 1820 or 1821; Hannah writes in this letter that she suspects Charity with Thomas Rotch may already have departed Ohio for Philadelphia, hence the approximate date of this letter. Ethel Conrad verifies in her book, "Invaluable Friends: Thomas and Charity Rotch"(1991)[p.58]that Charity was depressed when she learned in 1819 that Hannah whom she had not seen for eight years had died. Hannah writes in this letter that the very "warm weather has so debilitated my energy at times that I have hardly been adequate to the oversight of my family concerns and writing even to my much loved sister hath seem'd a task." 7.95" x 9.8" (20.2 by 25 cm)

Full Text	B-247-44 [1818/1819] I cannot say, when I last wrote my beloved sister- but believe it is much longer than it ought to have been as an excuse for which I may only say that one engagement has follow= ed after another which it would be difficult for me to enumerate-- & I really don t know weather thou hast had a line form me since our yearly meetg----therefore will just say that we were rea[illegible] favoured at the Season and if thou hast not heard who of traveling friends etc attended, & hast a desire to know- please enquire in thy next- 7th mo 8th- I began this letter several weeks ago- when a verbal account reach d me that thou, and dear brother were probably on your way here so I put by my writing with the pleasing prospect that I might soon have an opportunity of verbal converse----but a letter form brother Thomas of a late date- discourages the prospect, as he says nothing about it- I intended after the receit of his letter to my SRF thou should have had a token of my remembrance, & love ere now -but really the Very Warm Weather, has so debilitated
