What a favour it was that
I did not go with thee to Kendal--after parting
with thee we reached home in the after noon with
out difficulty. Michael's spirits continued to be
exceedingly depressed frequently assureing me
it would be his turn next for my own part. I
thought after a little rest and composure I should
do very well but it did not prove so. I soon found
that I needed medical aid. the Dr. Morton attend
ed me verry lovely for near three weeks for a pretty
severe and an obstinate attack of the billious fever
but I have favoured not to have any verry accute
suffering. the disease seemed to fall generally in my
system. Michael was quite complaining till I beca
me convalessant he then gave up and has since
had a smart attack of the same fever. he has
been confined to his chamber for a week but the
Dr. recommends his going out a little to day but he
seems most too feeble. I am in hopes the worst is
over with him. it has been pretty trying to me to
commence nursing so soon but I have kept up be
