Respected Friend
Charity Rotch having an opertunity of sending a few lines by my
Daughter Hannah Shir who is now at my house and
expects to go home to morrow, She live a little way to the
South west of Pine Street meeting house and if thee Can
pay
see thy way to^ her a Visit it may be Profitable to you both
& although I wish not to incourage formal Needless Visits yet believing those
who fear the Lord Speak often one to another in Such a manner that there
is a book of Remembrance kept to their advantage; for Surely Dear Child
I often Remember thee in hopes that thou may be of the number that can
Visit the afflicted and tryed ones; therefore when thou feels thy mind Drawn
to those weighty Services be faithfull unto Death (the Death of thine own
will) and thou Shall receive a Crown of life Even the life giving Presence of
Peace and, the answer of well Done; therefore mayst thou be thankfull for
past favor which has been bountifully bestowed on thee and humbly Seek
for more -
when thou Returns home Please to Remember my love to thy Husband
and to thyne & his Relations to Thomas Robinson & wife and other friends as
opertunity Serves.
I have been much favoured with health Since my return form
your Country, And my time of late years has been Chiefly Devoted to the
Services of the Church for Surely the harvest is Great and the labourers
few yet I hope there is a Remnant inguaged in watchfullness and Prayer
to the Lord of the harvest for the increase of laborers and for their own
Preservation which I find as Needfull now in mine advanced years as in
any part of my life.
I have wrote more than I expected and now
bid thee farewell.
