Farmington April 24th 1808
My Dear Friend
The inclose d was writen, as you
will perceive, by your friend E.T. with an expectation, of
sending it, on, to Philadelphia, but finding he had made
a wrong calculation, with regard, to the going out of
the mail, so, that it could not reach, that city, before the
probably
much wish d for time, when you will^ set your dear faces
homeward, he was very much hurt about it, & requested
that I would enclose it, & send it on to N york that it
might meet you there; Doctors time, is still, as much taken
up, in the dutys of his profession, as when I wrote you, &
days since, which, you have doubtless receiv d e re this- it is
indeed, very uncommon in this Town, to have so much sickness-
We receiv d, two days since, thy precious letter, my dear Charity
dated at Philadelphia, we were grieved to find, the ride had
not, the effect, we so much wish d, we console ourselves, as
much as possible, with the hope, that your journey home,
will be less fatiguing, & more beneficial to the health of our
much love d friend C.R. the time, has been long, indeed, since
we parted with you, thy letters, dear C. have been a continual,
consolation, I hope to get another, in the course of 2 or 3, days, which
