of perplexity, or as I have often thought, quite too much
is all that I can advance by way of apology, for not
writing to thee before now, and acknowledging the
receipt of thy kind favour of 4 Mo 4th; indeed I may
say the latter has been the sole cause, for I am
always willing to devote as much of my time as is
sufficient for this purpose, or to serve my friends any other
way, when not too much disqualified; and I am
sure there is no one to whom I could write with
more satisfaction than thyself - the first subject
that presents to my minds to offer to thy perusal is
my own situation; so selfish am I. but alas; it is
me
nothing but what pains^when, not to say whenever, I

thou mayst to suppose is because there is no favourable
change; it is equally as embarrasing, equally as
trying as ever; I feel a delicacy, and a fear, lest
I may say too much, for it does not become me
to say too much, nevertheless; to a sympathizing,
and beloved friend I hold myself excuseable in imparting
all that may relieve my own mind, or inform her-
The manner in which I have been treated by thy brother
