2 mo 8th 1189 I this day visited Zoar and although the length of time since the commencement of that settlement does not yet admit of improvements to the supplying them with the comforts of life from agriculture, they appear to be cheerful and well satisfied with their situation having so improved in the new business of clearing and bringing to the wild land as feel themselves by what they have done fully competent to accomplish the undertaking and will soon have find farms.
I have taken the liberty to inquire of an elderly woman by the name of MutelelKnaus who is present respecting thier situation and accomodation and treatment Vitz: dost thou like thy situation here, Yes I like it very well no one does me any har m. She was asked by several present who then said she wanted to to to Phila. she answered the did not and that she was well satisfied being here and with the undertaking will not leave the settlement.
