Description	The Register of Public Friends records the names of female itinerant Quaker ministers who preached at New England Meetings of Friends at Newport, primarily Yearly Meetings, between 1656 and 1804.It records the year and occasionally the month and day that ministers preached as well as the place "from whence they came" that refers to the itinerant's place of permanent domicile or meetings they had previously visited. The Register gives us deeper insight into the extent of personal ties and at times deep friendships that Quaker women created and sustained for decades during these years. 7.85" x 12.5" (20.1 by 31 cm)
