Esteemed Friend
Thy letter of twentieth ultimo
was handed me last evening at my return from the
attendance of our Yearly Meeting where amongst other
important considerations of the State of Society the
continued sufferings of this part of the human family
held in bondage, claimed the attention of the Yearly Meeting
and many lively and pertinent remarks were made tending
to a general incitement that by watchfulness no opportunity may
be lost to render the assistance necessary to hasten the relief
or soften the hard fate of these people, something expressive
