Description	This letter describes the terms of sale of a piece of property in the Hartford area where the Rotches farmed until their departure for Ohio in 1811. Robt Abbott mentions that he and Rotch would commiserate again at the next quarterly meeting of Friends which suggests that major business deals were hatched at meetings which drew in Friends from large areas of the state. 7.30" X 9.55" (18.6 by 24.3 cm)

Full Text	A-31-1 [page 1] Pleasant Valley 12th mo 16th 1809 Thomas Rotch Respected Friend I intended to have written to thee before now on the subject of our last been conversation, but have^ absent from home on a journey to New York, from whence I am just returned. I have seen my sister Shipley and have so arranged matters with her respect- ing the mortgage which she holds on Israel Dean's place, that, on the negotiation with thee taking effect, her claim will be removed. The property belonging to Israel Dean here consists of 75 Acres, 25 of which is wood, & meadow and the remainder plain Land; all of the first quality & in the best order. on the premises are a large dwelling House, Barn & other out Houses suitable for the Farm.
