         Thy letter of 29 ult is before me and I note the contents with satisfaction. I have full unity with the way thou thinks proper to manage the unpleasant business between G Earl & myself, I am of the opinion, he will surrender Without a Law Suit, an arbitration is preferable if he will not hear thee. With regards to the merits, I have only to confirm my former Communications that the 100$ note I returned by Fogle, was the one that, he Brot me from G E. in an open letter I am positive of, this taken for truth the matter may soon be determined. I am pleased he mentioned himself that Sterling was present I am very willing thou should manage the matter the same as if thy own, dispatching the matter as soon as thou can conveniently. I trust thou will feel a satisfaction in thy mind for he endeavors thou art using so honorable to thy character. I am with Esteem, thy frd,  Jos Evans
