Sir,
An action has been instituted in the County of Luzerne & State of Pennsylvania by Thomas Casady against David W. Taylor grounded on an alleged receipt of money by Taylor for the benefit of Casady said money alleged to have been received at Hartford Ct of Mr. Thomas Roach.
The case is a very singular one & as Mr Taylor whom I believe to have been much injured stands in need of your affirmation it becomes necessary to state it, which I will do in the words of David B. Wheeler Esq Taylor's attorney resident in Tunck hannot in Pennsylvania, who has written to me on he subject. Estract from Mr Wheelers letter:
"Cassady charges Taylor with having received & embezzled money of his of one Thomas Roach of the City of Hartford Ct stating at the same time that the said Thomas Roach became indebted to him in the village of Troy, N Y some 10 or 12 years ago & that from the time the debt became due until Dec. 1810, he was entirely ignorant where the said Roach was to be found.
