Mr Thomas Rotch
Sir,
Your favor of the 9th Instant is now before me, and in case M Graham notes should not be regularly paid as they become due, you may expect that I shall act, as I conceive most for your Interest.
With respect to the Flaxseed, the present price of the Article is one dollar pr Bushel, but there has very little come to Market as yet, the Crop is said to be great this season, but the purchasing of a Qty is alwasy attended with delay, as it comes to the Market in Small Parcels say 20-30 or 40 Bushels at a time as the Shipper has to employ a person who lives in the good Stand, on the Wharf to purchase those small parcels as they come to hand untill he gets the Qty which he may want-the price I am told is in general lower here, then at New York but I do not expect the seed is quite so good a Quality or so Clean, my Commission would be 2 2/1 prC not including the Satisfying the purchaser on the Wharf for his trouble which I suppose would be as much more - if you think it an object, and which I much doubt you will, I shall Cheerfully do the best for you I can, and remain thy Respectfully Isaac McKim
