Know all men by these present that I Thomas Rotch of Hartford & in the County of State of Connecticut do by then Presents make constitute and Appoint of Nantucket in the County of Nantucket o& State of Massachusetts, my True & Lawl Attorney for me and in my name to sell convey & transfer my Ten Shares in the Capital or joint stock of Nantucket Bank
as Fully and amply as I myself could do was I personally present. In witness where of I have hereunto affixed my hand & Seal at this day of Month in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred & Four.

Annexed thou has a form of a Power for the purpose of transferring thy Bank shares to the Nantucket Marine Insur Company at 100 Dolls cash, if thou wishes to pay thy shares, therein, that way, & which is agreeable to the mode persued by all the Bank proprietors except a few Reserved by Individuals to Quallify them to appoint Officers & who kan reserve one or two shares cash, Thy Bro Wm, T. Hazard & S Rodman have transferred all their shares, if thou does thine, there will be a Ball due thee of 490 Dolls as pr Statement. the Insur Co have agreed to purchase into the Nantucket Bank so far as they can at 100 Dolls each share and there is Nearly the Amt of the Insur Co Capital Stock paid in. I paid for thee for First & second Instalment of Ins Co 500
