I have recd the Shakes & potatoes the latter as well as those that came before, by having been such I fear will not keep long, the weather has been such that it has been difficult moving anything a distance without expence b[illegible], we have however added 15 bushels raised here, & lent some of those thou sent this I hope they'll answer.
The maria came in yesterday but not having a good birth at the wharf & being closely engaged have not yet been able to ascertain what she may want exactly, but the [illegible] having marked out of her waste & being destititude of standing knees, wch are not to be had here, I should be glad of a number procured as soon as possible, perhaps thou may find [illegible] without having recourse to our docked stuff, but if not with Fathers approbation, send & if he thinks that a suitable number. I have not had time to consult a Carpenter about it, shall do it whenever Paddack thinks his wales are good except about 6 feet wch they found rotten, but no complaint since they repaird it at Bouavesta.
