Esteemed Friend
Yours of the ~9th came to hand yesterday. the sheep here are a doin verry well at present but are in want of feed. They have had the lot they had last fall for to run in which has been of considerable advantage to them but it is now very bare, yet they allmost all together refuse hay.
I have purchased $12, or corn and $89 hay on Cr. and shall have to buy grain after this week. I give more grain now than in the winter which is the only thing that keeps them in health. The corn is now verry dry and of cours safe. I have lost one full blood sheep since Sam left here the one that was blind. Jenny looks verry well at present and begins to have hay. Frd Hobson is as accommodating as is from his interest. I have not time to add. Arvine Wales
