Camp 4 miles south of
east Mount Jackson.
Clear + warm. Drew 2 � 
plugs tobacco. Drew
flour. Had regt. [regiment] inspec-
tion [inspection] by one of the staff offi-
cers [officers]. [Private Amanuel] Russell 
profered [proffered] charges against
General [Jeremiah C.] Sullivan.  I was 
in a swimming [illegible].
[Private. Amanuel] Russell, [Private Samuel P.] Fleak + [Private Jesse] Burton
+ Lieut. [Lieutenant] [William G.] Mosely still
under arrest.

Wednesday June 1, 1864
Camp 4 miles south of east
Mount Jackson.  Clear
+ pleasant.  [Private] Geo. [George] Bates,
[Private] John Norris, and several
of the boys and myself
went out and killed
[illegible] sheep for the Regt. [regiment]
[Private Amanuel] Russell, [Private Samuel P.] Fleak, [Private Jesse] Burton 
are released from arrest.
Lieut.[Lieutenant] [William G.]  Mosely still
under arrest.  Was in 
a swimming [sic]
