S. P Tmrnxend abandoned the field Old Dr. Jacob Towvnend cm. dientcd by the I'eople S. P, Towneend has at last given up tbe manufacture ol any Dure Sarsaparilla, having disposed of his business to Borne strangers. Thus bis claims to Originnlity und other pretensions fall to the ground. Hereafter it is to be sent out to tlie people by some Strangers, ef benring the name of B, P. Townsend. We have been informed that these Strangers intend to print on the labels tho name of some Chemist, in order to redeem, if possible iis bad character of Souring ami Fermenting. Let the people fully understand that no Revamping, no new botching, no prefixing of Chemist's niunosor nny other folly will redeem S. P. rowneend's souring compound from public odium, unloBs it is made entirely different from its present character ; and il they do this, it will become another ni liclo of Sarsaparilla, and they might ns well give it another name first as last. It should then be called the "Stranger's Sarsoparillii," and not S. P. Townend's. But if there is no alteration, the people may till expect the same old Souring, Fermenting, Root Beer stuff. We have felt it 11 duly to inform the public of the true position of thin matter, that Old Doctor Jacob Townsend's Sarauparilla may not be confounded with this souring article. WHERE THIS LINIMENT 18 USED PAIN CANNOT EXIST. It has been hut about six months since this extraordinary med-icul preparation first made its appearance in the United states; yet it has gained a popularity unprecedented in the annals of any preparation ever ottered to the afflicted. Although it was recommended only fur rheumatism, sores bruises, scratches, burns, aprains, tc, in human beings, and lor ring hones, spavin, wind-gulls, big head, poll evil, fistula, saddle nnd collar galli, scratches, nneH ol joint, aweeney, &c., in horses; yet it has proved equally efflcadonj in many other complaints. It is an infallible remedy for that worst ol nil complaints, the tooth ache. INFLAMMATORY RHEUMATISM t ThomnB Barnett, works at Rogers A: Barkhead's copper works, was cured perfectly of an obstinate attack of this acute and painful disease, nRer trying doctors prescriptions and other remedies in vain, in three days. "TILL MORE EXTRAORDINARY 1 1 An old physician of ex tensive practice in tho city, had a patient a boy whom he had attended two years lor rheumatism. Hi limbs were all drawn out of shape in the most shocking manner, and bis sufferings were of the most agonizing and heort rending kind. He finally lost all hopes of doing 'dm any good, and, to get rid of the constant calls on him, often in tne night, recommended him to try the Mustang Liniment not that he thouirht it would do the boy any good But to his great surprise the boy has got well. ThJJ is the donor's confession. NUMB-PALHY, OR PARALYSIS, One case in this rity, in both limbs and the whole of one slda, has been perfectly restored by using the Mustang Liniment alone 1 WHITE-SWELLING, OR HIP DISEASE. A very respectable Rnd worthy citizen of Madison county, 111., had h son who had been nfllicted with this terrible disease for nearly two years and the hip Joint was drawn considerably out of place. The doctors could do it no good, and he expected his only son to bo a cripple for lite, In his despair, he was Induced to use the Mustang Liniment and his son is healed I WONDERFUL CURE OF CANCER I This is to certify that my wife has heen sorely afflicted with a cancer on her taec for several years, and it began to spread to an alarming extent. Many physicians prescribed for it tho great Kentucky Cancer Doctor was applied to and every remedy that we could obtain was tried, but nothing appeared to do it an good. It whs pronounced the incurable sore. We were greatly alarmed, und began to feel the stings of despair, wl.en V fortu nately came in possession of a few bottles ot the Mexican Mustang Liniment, and to our great joy, by a few applications of the uinimwii urn cauDtn bdmiw waapfaHMisu, uiner imporxant cures have been eifected by it in the ntignborhood. - JOHN COI.CLASURE. Clny county, 111, .buiunry Mth, 1850 I hereby certify thai John Colclnsure is an old, auhBtantial, re-spoctuble and worthy citizen of Clny county, 111., and that I saw his wife when aJUotted with the cancer, and alter it wns cured. I Heaven forbid that we should deal In an article which would bear tlie most distant resemblance to S. P. Townsend's article I Wo wish It understood, because it is the absolute truth, that S. P. I ownaend's article and Old Dr. Jacob Townsend's Sarsaparilla are heaven-wide apart, and infinitely dissimilar ; thnt they are unlike in every particular, having not one single thing in common. Ah H. P.Towuscnd is no doctor, and never was, is no chemist, no pharmaceutist knows no more of medicine or disease than any other common, unscientific, unprofessional man, what guarantee can the public have that they are receiving a genuine scien-tine medicine, containing nil the virtues of the articles used in preparing it, and which are incapable of changes which might render them the Agents of Disease instead of health 1 Since the above whs put in type tho following fact has come to our knowledge; which is truly tyled The Triumph nf Jtifltlce The Wur Ended! He voluntarily abandons them, in thus evading the issue before the public, by disposing of his trade. The fact that he was no physician, no chemist, the occupalion ol whose life was a worker on Railroads, canals, chopping wood, saw logs, dock sticks, ic, fte. The Inct, also, that his article became notorious tor its Souring. Fermenting nnd Bursting theBottle;-, thereby deceiving and injuringthe sick, and destroying goods, diJinonstrnlea beyond all doubt tho fallacy of his pretensions, nnd Ihe baseless fabricot his claims. In conclusion we would remark that tome months ngo S. P. Towneend left his old stand in Fulton st., n first rate store, and sat himself down only a few doors below ub, in Nnusauu st., the inotivesand objects ol which we leave others to judge. We understand these Strangers, who have taken up S. p.'s business, intend to remain there. Such conduct needs no comment.
