I'm... pp. 'AT2. Price -" ! in law binding. Ud edition: revised and enlarged. This worn Is intended to be what its title purports, A Manual for those who settle the estates of deceased persons. It embodies the provisions of the Statutes, with such comments, decisions, forim, and other matter, us was deemed requisite lor persons m.t skilled in the law, to undcrhtnml the ordinary duties ol Kxecu-tors find AdniiiiiittrHtorM. This object has been kept in view throughout, not only because a large book would be almost Useless to those perxoiis who desire to rend no more than is necessary to make themtelves well acquainted with their general du-lies, but hecauxe, in moBt fljiaa, an Kxi cutur or Administrator would not be justifiable in purchasing au expensive work. He-sides, it will perhaps be found that this hook embodies much more useful inlDrmution than the most voluminuuBaud elaborate Knulihli works upon the Mine subject. The vnrious subjects, as will be perceived from the table ol contents, are treated, as near ns could be, in the order in which tho various duties should be performed; beginning wiih the notice to creditors, then the inking ol i he inventor and schedules, with forms; the fmle. mid sale bill ; what are assets and what are not, the collection ot the assets, and when and how; the authentication of Claims ngninct the estate, and their arbitration, fto , with forma ; the sale ol the real estate ; tho remedies by and against executors und administrators ; the mode of settling Insolvent estates, Stc. Towusend Is now about 70 years of age, nnd has long boon knuwnasthe Author urn) h' , ,.i ,l. r :,.,.,..,. Original "Townsend Sarsaparilla." Being poor, he was compel led to limit it manufacture, by which mean it has ben kept out ot market, and tho sales circumKribed to those only who had K.r.,-u i worm, hiiu anown its value, it hail reached Uieeari ol many, nevertheless, as those persons who had been healed ot sore diseases, and saved irorn death, proclaimed its wonderful cures; it relaxes strictures and tightness, removes all atotructiona and invigorates the entire nervous system. Is not this then the Medicine you prc-cmjueutly noedl But can any of these things be said of H. P. Towneend'e inferior article I This young man's liquid is not to be compared with the old Doctor's, because of one grand fact that thu one ii incapable ol deterioration, and never spoils, while the other does : souring, fameanW. and biowine the bottles containinir it into fraifuienta : the sour, acid liquid exploding, and damaging other goods I Must not thb horrible coiunound be noisonous to tne svstem f What I put acid into a system already diseased with acid f What causes Dispepsia hut acid 1 Do wo not all know that when food soure in our stomachs, what mischief it produces ) Hatulenco, heart-hum, palpitadon ot the heart, liver complaint, diarrheas, dysentery, colic, and corruption of the blood! What is Serolula but an acid humor in the body 1 What produces all the buinora which bring on Eruptions of the Skin, Scald Head, Salt Rh' um, Erysipelas, White Swellings, Fever Sores, and all ulceration n-lernul and external ? It is nothing under heaven but an acid - .ib- sumce, wuien sourf, aim tnus spoils an the nuias ui tne no more or less. Whbt causes Rhoumatltin but a sour and acid fluid which inhiniuitex ifelt between the joints and elsewhere, Irritating imd intlaming the delicate tissues upon which it act t So ot nervous diseases, of impurity of the blood, of deranged circulation, and nearly all the ailments which atfliet human nature . Now Is it not horrible to make and sell, and infinitely worse to use this Souring, F-rmentlng, Acid "Compound of S. P. Towna-end, and yet he would fain have it understood that Old Dr. Jacob Townscd 8 Genuine Original Sarsaparilla, is an Imitation of nil nlerior preparation 1 1 Heaven forbid that we should deal in an article which would bear the most distant resemblance to S. P. Towuscnd's article I Wc wish it understood, because It is the absolute truth, that 8. P. Townsend'B article and Old Dr. Jacob Townsend's Sarsaparilla are heaven-wide apart, and infinitely dissimilar; that they areun like In every particular, having not one single thing in common. Ab S. P. Towusend is no doctor, and never was, is no chemist, no pharma :utiut knows no more of medicine or disease thin any other e niuon. unscientific, unprofessional man, what guarantee can th public have that they are receiving a genuine scientific medicin containing all the virtues of the articles used In preparing it, and which aro incapable of changes which might render them t o Agents of Disease instead of health f Since the ab ve was put in type the following fact has come to our knowledge which is truly tyled The Triumph of Justice The War Ended! S. P Totontcnd abandoned the JUldOld Dr. Jacob Towniendvin-dicated by the People S. P. Townsend has at last given up the manufacture of any more Sarsaparilla, having disposed of In - business to some strangers. Thus bis claims to Originality and other pretensions fall to the ground. He voluntarily abandons them, In thus evading the issue before the public, by disposing of bis trade. The fact that he was no physician, no chemist, the occupation of whose life was a worker on Railroads, canals, chopping wood, aw log", dock sticks, Sic, Sic. The fact, also, that his article became notorious for its Souring, Fermenting and Bursting the Bottles, thereby deceiving and injuring the sick, and destroying goods, demonstrates beyond all doubt the fallacy of his pretensions, ana the baseless fabric ot his claims. Hereafter it Is to be sent out to the people by some Strangers, yet hearing the name of S. P. Townsend. Wc have been informed that theBe Strangers intend to print on the labels the name of some Chemist, in order to redeem, if pos-slble its had character of Souring and Fermenting. Let the people fully understand that no Revamping, no new notching, no prefixing of Chemist's names or any other folly will redeem S. P. 1'owiiBend'B souring compound from public odium, unless it Is made entirely different from its present character , and il they do this, it will become another article of Sarsaparilla, and they might aa well give it another name first as last it should then bo called the "Stranger's Sarsaparilla," and not S I'. Townend's. But If there is no alteration, the people may still expect the same old Souring, Fermenting, Root Beer stuff. We have hit it a duty to inform the public of the true position oi this matter, that Old Doctor Jacob Townsend's Sarsaparilln may not be confounded with this souring article. In conclusion we would remark that some months aso 8. P. Townsend left his old stand in Fulton st., a tim rate store, and sat himself down only a few dours below us, m Naussau St., the motives and objects ot which we leave others to judge. We understand these Strangers, who have taken up 8. P.'s business, intend to remain there. Such conduct needs no comment We shall move from Nassau street in the Snrinir. and we will then see if these Strangers follow us as S. P. did. Being poor, he was compel led to limit it manufacture, by which mean it has ben kept out ot market, and tho sales circumKribed to those only who had K.r.,-u i worm, hiiu anown its value, it hail reached Uieeari ol many, nevertheless, as those persons who had been healed ot sore diseases, and saved irorn death, proclaimed its wonderful cures; it relaxes strictures and tightness, removes all atotructiona and invigorates the entire nervous system.
