Knabe & Co., It is Impossible not to bear testimony to their qualities, which have acquired for them the eminent reputation which they enjoy. The Pianos of their manufacture, on which I have played, are exceedingly remarkable for their qualities of tone. The Bass is powerful, without harshness, and the upper notes sweetj clear and harmoniously mellow, (chrystalin,) and I do not hesitate to express in regard to these instruments my entire satisfaction, and to declare that they are equal, if not supenor, to the best manufactured in Europe or this country by the most celebrated makers. L. M. GOTTSCHALK. Messbs. Wm. Knabe & Co. Wishing yon every success, I remain, Yours truly, C. ANbCHUTZ. Messbs. Wm. Knabe ft Co. This I have done to the best of my judgment by contributing eight chapters to the present edtion: the tirst.on the relation of Physiology to the other sciences; and the last seven, forming ' art 1 1 , which treats briefly of general Hygiene, or the application of the principles of Physiology to the art of preserving health. I have also numbered the paragraphs of the work continuously, prefixed headings to them, and appended a set of questions to the wbi le. My own additions to the volume have been made id response to a growing demand that the subject ot Hy.it'tw, in both its bodily and mental aspects, shall receive increasing attention in general education.
