The most effectual compound ever invented, for the removal of Oil, Grease, Paint, Tar, or Stains, from Carpets, Coats, Collars, and all kinds of Clulhs. It may be used without fear of changing any color that will bear the simple application of water, and is warranted not to injure the finest texlure. This compound has been fully tested by some of the most respectable citizens of Cincinnati, and has been highly approved of, as will be seen by the annexed recommendation. The mode of apply ing it is simple and easy, and its effect all that could be desired, and should be in the possession of every family, maiden, lady, or single gentleman in the laud. RECOMMENDATION. We, the undersigned citizens of Cincinnati, have used what is called Erasive Compound, manufactured by Hiram Nash, of said cily, and have found the same to answer most perfectly the object for which it is designed. We therefore recommend it without hesitation, as being superior to anything of the kind we have ever seen, and of great use lo the public. Dated Cincinnati, December 17, 1842. Calvin Fletcher, Robert Merrill, Jr., Mrs. Judge Burnet, Wm. H. H. Taylor, P. M., Prof. O. M. Mitchell, Judge D. K. Estk, JSam'l. W. Davies, Mayor, Prof. J. A. Warder. STATEMENT OF DR. LOCKE. Scarpa's Compound Krcosolc Acoustic Oil, for the cure of Deafness, pains, and the discharge of matter from the ears; also all those disagreeable noises, like the buzzing of insects, falling of water, whizzing of steam, &c. &c, wliich are symptoms th approaching dealhess, and also generally attendant with ofe disease. The very great number of happy results that have followed the use of SCARPA'S COMPOUND KREOSOTE ACOUSTIC OIL, have been truly astonishing. Many persons who have been deaf, for ten, fifteen and twenty years, and were obliged to use ear trumpets, have, after the use of one or two bottles, thrown aside their trumpets, having their hearing quite restored ; and what is still more wonderful, some who were deaf from birth, have been so much improved as to hear common conversation very readily. It would be the height of presumption to warrant a cure in all cases, but in nine cases out ol ten of recent dale, there is a certainty that the results will be most happy and satisfactory lo the patients. The application of the oil produces no pain, but on the contrary an agreeable and pleasant sensation. Numerous testimonials of the efficacy of this medicine might be published, but it is only necessary lo say that it has been used and recommended by many of the best physicians and surgeons in this country and Europe. Certificates, however, of its good, and, in some cases extraordinary, effects, will be shown to any who may wish to see them at the store of the subscriber who will hereafter keep the article constantly for sale. " My Dear Sirs I have often been afflicted with great exhaustion after exhorting and fulfilling my duties and professional avocations, and never found any relief therefrom until I met with your excellent Horchound Candy. " I have used it on innumerable occasions, and believe it to be the best medicinal compound extant for healing and preserving the lungs from Consumption in its early stages. Clergymen are very apt, from the nature of their profession, to be aiflicted with hoarseness, which finally turns to Broncnitis ; and 1 certainly believe that a free use of your Candy will keep away that complaint altogether. I recommend all my brethren to keep a few packages of your Candy by them, and use it after speaking, and they will at once perceive its benefit. Your friend truly, A. D. AYRES, D. D. D. AYRES, D. D.
