The publisher has great pleasure in presenting to tho pro fession the following favorable recommendations of tins edilion of the Forma and Practice : From the Judges of the Court in Hank. Court in Bank, Jan. 7, 1849, The new Forms, the Authorities adduced, and the copious Notes added to this edition, greatly increase its value. It hns been prepared with great care, and evinces adegreo of ciilical learning and legal acumen which adds not only to tho value of the work, but nlso to the well earned fame, as an able law wiiter, of its learned and amiable author. In my judgment it will not suffer under the the lest of critical examination, by comparison with most modern works of accredited reputation. M. BIRCHARD. The undersigned concur in the opinion above expressed. P. HITCHCOCK. K. A VICKY, N C. 1th AD. From the Hon. judjfff Jhinut. The volume, as you remark, hat been very much enlarged and increased in value, by tbe addition of new forms, and numerous notes, referring to adjudged cases touching the subject matter of the text. It appears to me that no Practitioner iu the Courts of our State, with your book before then), can be at a loss for the form of any Process, Pleading, Bill, Answer, Order or F.ntry, that can be wanted in the course of his practice ; and it is very evident that the nu merous relerences in your copious noies will save much time and labor to those of the profession who consult the work. From Judge Wright. The first edition lias been carefullv revised, and so many other forms added, that " ttiis may bp regarded ns almost a new work.'' Authorities are adduced to sustain all but the forms on new statutes, requiring new proceed.ngs. Copious Notes are added to this edition, relaliag chiefly to prac tice selected irom materials collected by the author (luring several )cars and especially relating to the more important ' qoettioni in Chancery Practice that have not yet been settled iu the Courts of Ohio." We think Mr Wilcox has presented to the Profession a valuable bonk of Practice, calculated lo secure greater uniformity and accuracy iu the judicial proceedings of the Courts of Ohio, and to aid the young practitioner, as well as the old one, in the modes ot proceeding. This book should be iu the library of every practising lawyer. JODGB WAMtlft remarks in his Western Law Journal for December We have here, underthe name of a second edition, in re lily a new book, of 870 pages, every one of w bicb cijitains matter of every day utility to the practitioner of law in Ohio. We do not see how even the tyro, with the light here furnished, need be at a loss for t he mode of procedure, whether he be Judge. Attorney, or Clerk. And Mr. Wilcox lias not only given tbe how, but the wherefore ; for authorities tire cited to sustain almost every lorm presented. And then tin; index (fast bettor half of a law book is very elaborate and complete. On tbe whole, we are inclined to think this the most convenient book yet made for the profession in Ohio. Judge Swan's work is not yet completed. And we congratulate our junior brethren, especially, on the facilities thus afforded for taking and keeping the right way in the conduct of any case.
