HENRY BURMAN COUPE IN CRASH WITH 3 TRUCKS 1 Victim at Memorial Hos- j pital With Multiple | « $one Fractures Howard Everett of Clyde Driver of One Commer¬ cial Car, Hurt Henry Burman, about 60, of El¬ more, prominent highway con¬ tractor and funeral director, was injured, critically, in a crash be¬ tween three trucks and the Bur- man automobile on V, S. High¬ way 20, six miles west oi Fre¬��mont at 2 a. m,- Wednesday. Burman, a member of the con¬ tracting firm of Weis Brothers and Burman, Elmore, is a patient, at Memorial hospital, where his con¬ dition was reported, critical. He is suffering from numerous fractures and possible internal injuries. Are Reticent Burman is suffering from a com- I pound fracture of the left elbow 1 and the left forearm and a fracture of the right wrist, with accompany¬ ing lacerations. He also has a frac¬ ture of the left leg below the knee, both bones being broken, His fore¬ head is badly cut and severe injur¬ ies to the chest were inflicted. He may have internal injuries. He was reported resting easier at 2 p. m. Wednesday. He is attended by a loca! physician. Howard Everett, 23, of Clyde, a driver for a truck owned by Wil¬ liam Oswald, of Clyde, was also in¬ jured in the crash, and spent the night at Memorial hospital where he was treated for lacerations on the scalp and body bruises. He was discharged later in the day. According to Sheriff Tom H. Pask, who investigated "the crash, Burman was driving his coupe west on the federal highway, about opposite the Brindley farm. Three Trucks Three trucks, under contract with the Michigan Motor Freight j Company, were traveling east. The ! first truck was owned 4jy George j Sennett, of Bellevue. The Oswald truck was then struck from the rear by the Bow¬ man truck.
