My Dear Wife

	I recieved yours of May 13th 

in which I was hapily informed of your good health 

I would say also that my health is tolerable 

and I hope when the hot weather is past 

that I shall be entirely well I still have 

some headache during the heat of the 

day but then we have such cool and pleasant 

evenings that it is bracing to the system 

If it was not for this I could not endure 

this Climate but take it all together this is 

a delightful Climate and there is less 

sickness here than any other place that 

I was ever in but still it is a fact that 

when a person does get unwell here it 

takes longer to recruit than it does in 

other places that I have ever been  if I had my

health first rate I would still try and have 

my Family come to this country and stay 

two or three years and then return but 

as it is I think it the best policy to 

give it up entirely and I will try 

and return Home as soon as practicable 

that will depend on circumstances 

we want to get something out of our 

River Claims which we will know 

something about in a month from this time
