The Military
Committe of Highland County met at Hillsboro
on the 9th inst, and organized, and appointed
the undersigned from the number, as their
Secretary, and all Correspondence to you from
this Committee will be through me.
We call your attention to the bad conduct
of James Galloway recruiting officer for 18th
regular, his Post Office address is Hillsboro, O.
Galloway gets drunk almost every day, has
had frequent Street fights [underlined], one of which was
seen by the "Committee", he is getting no recruits,
and is disgracing the service. Many of the
prominent citizens of Hillsboro demanded [underlined] that
the "Committee" should report him to your department
and have him removed [caret] from [written above line] the place
There are now as many Commissioned
