Description	Eighteen photographs document the construction of the Ohio State Museum, home of the Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society (now the Ohio Historical Society) in 1912. The first photograph shows the cornerstone laying ceremony in 1912. Standing prominently at the High Street entrance to the Ohio State University, the Museum and Library of the Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society was completed in December 1913 and dedicated five months later on Memorial Day. Graced with Ionic columns, Tiffany bronze doors, and marble stairways, the two-story building of limestone block was the first wing of what would become a much larger structure. In 1970, the Ohio Historical Society moved into the Ohio Historical Center, located on Velma Avenue near the Ohio Exposition Center. The photographs measure between 5" x 7" (12.7 x 17.78 cm) and 8" x 10" (20.32 x 25.4 cm).
