Saxbe (b. 1916), "I've Seen the Elephant" tells of his childhood and early life in the small town of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, his military career during World War II and the Korean War, and his political life as a public servant in Ohio, in Washington, D.C. and overseas. Stories of teen-age adventures, such as hopping a freight train, candid insights on being elected to the United States Senate, his memories of serving as Richard Nixon's attorney general at the height of the Watergate scandal, and life as United States ambassador to India in the mid-1970s are highlights of this down-to-earth personal history. The manuscript is approximately 250 pages and measures 8.5" x 11" (21.59 x 27.94 cm). Sixty-two pages are included here.
