My Dear Mamie
Your letter of the 27 th[superscript] of July was
rec'd in which you give an account
of your trip to the Weisenstein Moun-
-tain. It was very interesting but very
tiresome. I hope you did not suffer
long from head ache. Now I want to
make a little sermon on your trip.
You were very tired. So you always are
when you study. But you enjoyed your
trip & when the fatigue passes away you
will forget that and think only of the
pleasure you enjoyed. And so with your
studies. If you get tired that will
soon pass away while the information
you get will be an aid and pleasure
to you as long as you live. Years
hence you will think of what you
saw and learned in Suisse I too
have had my travels-but I think
