Constitution of the Lorain County Historical Society
Article I.
This Society shall be known as "The Lorain County Historical Society."
Article II.
Its object shall be the collection and safe keeping in proper form of papers, documents, and biographical
sketches pertaining to the history of Lorain county, the several townships therein, and the pioneer and
other residents thereof, together with any articles of an archaeological character, and such aboriginal and
other relics as are worthy of preservation.
Article III.
The officers of the Society shall consist of a president, three vice presidents, a treasurer, a recording and
a corresponding secretary, all ladies, who shall be elected by ballot at the annual meeting, and
shall perform the duties usually to their respective offices.
Article IV.
The annual meeting shall be held on the second Monday in April, and quarterly meetings on
the second Monday in July, October, and January in each year, in Elyria, at 7:30 p.m.
Special meetings may be called by the president at any time, and shall be called on the
written request of not less than five members of the board of managers or advisory committee,
hereinafter provided for, Not less than ten members of the board of managers and the advisory
committee with the president or one vice president shall constitute a quorum for the transaction
of business at a special meeting, and no business shall be transacted at such meeting other than
that for which the meeting shall be called.
