Description	These photographs come from a 41-page album of photographs taken by or for Sergeant Mervin Hall Sr. of Clyde, Ohio during World War II. Seven 2.5" x 3.5" (6.35 x 8.89 cm) photographs are included here. Hall (1920-1974) graduated from York High School in 1938 and enlisted in the Army Air Corps (predecessor of the Air Force) in the summer of 1942. He was one of the first Ohio soldiers to serve in all European theatres of operation in World War II, seeing duty in Algeria, French Morocco, Tunisia, Sicily, Italy (Foggia, Arno, and Po valley campaigns), North Apennines, France, and the Rhineland in Germany. His duties included radio operator, clerk, and mechanic. After the war, Hall returned to Sandusky County, Ohio, where he married Theola Cole of Sandusky in August 1945. She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy WAVES (Women Appointed for Volunteer Emergency Service). The Halls had two children, Mervin Jr. and Thomas. Hall was employed as a clerk typist by the Penn Central Railroad. The family lived in Gibsonburg, Ohio, where Hall pursued his interests in ceramics, weaving, and orchids.
