Description	Six photographs show classes at the Pontifical College Josephinum from the 1950s to the 1990s. The first photograph shows study hall in the high school around 1950. In the second photograph, from 1955, Monsignor Nicholas Pinter is shown in the classroom where he taught Greek and Latin. The third photograph shows a philosophy class in the college taught by Dr. David DeLeonardis in 1995. In the fourth photograph, Father Robert Bauer, S.D.B., teaches a course on the Old Testament in the School of Theology in 1990. The next photograph shows a liturgical practicum course for baptism in St. Turibius Chapel in 1995. A physical education class taught by Coach Chuck Helfant in 1992 is shown in the final photograph. All photographs measure between 3.5" x 5" (8.89 x 12.70 cm) and 5" x 7" (12.70 x 17.78 cm). At the Pontifical College Josephinum the academic structure changed 1940s and 1950s from the "six-six" format (six years of minor seminary and six years of major seminary) to four years of high school, four years of college, and four years of seminary. The first class of seminarians was ordained in 1899, and the first official college commencement occurred in June 1953. In 1892, Pope Leo XIII granted the request of Father John Joseph Jessing, making the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio the only pontifical seminary outside of Italy.
