Description	Two 7.5" x 9.5" (19.05 x 24.13 cm) photographs document Ohio Wesleyan University's Sanborn Hall. The first photograph shows the exterior of the building, while the second is a recital hall. Anna Sanborn Clason, a 1859 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan Female College, donated Sanborn Hall in memory of her mother, Martha S. Sanborn, and her brother, Benjamin F. Sanborn, who was killed in the Civil War. Built of brick, Sanborn Hall included a large recital auditorium, offices, practice rooms for students, and various rooms for orchestral and vocal groups. In 1983, an expanded and remodeled Sanborn Hall was dedicated. The addition consisted of a new instrumental rehearsal hall and expanded library named for Theodore Presser, who founded Ohio Wesleyan's music department in 1872. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
