Description	These two photographs depict Sturges Hall on the Ohio Wesleyan University campus in Delaware, Ohio. The first photograph, which measures 3.5" x 4.25" (8.26 x 10.8 cm), shows the library's alcoves inside the building. The second photograph, measuring 7.5" x 9.5" (19.05 x 24.13 cm), shows the exterior of the building. Sturges Hall was built in 1855 as the first library on the Ohio Wesleyan University campus and was financed by William Sturges. Morris Cadwallader was the architect. The interior was constructed in alcoves with books in broad subject categories. At first books did not circulate but were read in the library. The building is of brick in modified Greek architecture, an imitation of Elliott Hall (the first building on campus). The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
