Black Swamp Players 2001 - 2002 Season ^s^ Something to Hide September 21, 22, 23 & 28, 29, 30 Author - Leslie Sands Directed Ij - WILLAEO UISFELST In this thriller a successful author and his wife, who is also his publisher, try to cover up the apparently accidental death of his mistress at their country house in England. Their carefully but hastily constructed web of lies is subtly picked apart by the local police inspector who is more clever than they think. A bizarre story involving blackmail and murder slowly unfolds in a series of unexpected twists leading up to a surprise ending. Audition Dates - July 29 and 30 Adults $8 Students & Seniors $6 Moon Over Buffalo November 9,10,11 & 16,17,18 Author - Een Ludwig Directed hy - WILLIAM BAXTER An acting couple, Charlotte and George Hay, who are not exactly the Lunts, are on tour in Buffalo in 1953 with a repertory consisting of Cyrano de Bergerac and Noel Coward's i Private Lives. This backstage farce by the author of Lend Me a Tenor, brought Carol Burnett back to Broadway and also starred Philip Bosco as her megalomaniac, often drunk husband and leading man. Fate has given these thespians one more shot at starring roles in Hollywood and director Frank Capra himself is en route to Buffalo to catch their matinee performance. Will Charlotte appear or run off with their agent? Will George be sober enough to emote? Will Capra see Cyrano, Private Lives or a disturbing mixture of the two. Hilarious misunderstandings pile on madcap misadventures, all of which are magnified by Charlotte's deaf mother who manages the theatre. This show, like the man whose life it offers in musical revue, has it alLgreat pit orchestra, show biz pizazz, dancing girls, show-stopping musical numbers, lavish costumes, even the four singing/ dancing Rogers children. The show won five Tonys, including best musical score, best book (story) and best musical show. Recalling her father's warning to beware fortune seekers, she poses as a working girl, unaware Tony is .' in fact the missing son of the wealthy Lord Brockhurst Things get complicated with*, the unexpected arrival in Nice of Polly's parents and Lord and Lady Brockhurst-but not to worry, a happy ending is in store for all.
