Description	This photograph shows people gathered around the Defiance County courthouse at Clinton and Second Streets in Defiance, Ohio to celebrate the end of World War I. A second photograph shows a peace celebration that occurred four days earlier, before the war had officially ended. Both photographs measures 12" x 3.75" (30.48 x 9.53 cm). Edward Bronson (1873-1965) was a three-term mayor of Defiance, managed the local opera house, and was involved in numerous civic associations. In addition, he was an amateur photographer who recorded daily life in Defiance. The Edward Bronson Photograph Collection consists of 798 photographic prints created by Bronson between 1906 and 1949. The collection is housed at the Defiance Public Library. Copy prints are available at the Center for Archival Collections, Bowling Green State University.
