Description	This minute book of the First Society of Christian Spiritualists of Van Wert, Ohio, documents the meetings and activities of the organization. It held seances, such as attempts to make contact with Galileo and Socrates, and discussed issues relating to the paranormal. The minute book is 88 pages and measures 7.5" x 9.5" (19.05 x 24.13 cm). The first thirteen pages are digitized here. The First Society of Christian Spiritualists was a local Van Wert organization founded in 1888 by Mrs. Magdalena Klein. The group's belief system embraced aspects of Christianity combined with the occult. Klein acted as a medium and president of the group. Visions, prophecies, and messages of the group, as well as financial records and minute books are maintained in a collection at the Brumback Library.
