Description	This 39-page program contains a list of the events for each day of the six-day celebration of the opening of Fernbank Dam near Cincinnati. Among the events were a reception, steamboat parade, band contest, pleasure boat parade, motor boat races, automobile races, and an aviation exhibition. The program includes a description of Fernbank Dam with illustrations. There are also numerous advertisements for local businesses. The program measures 6.75" x 10" (17.15 x 25.4 cm). Fernbank dam, officially known as Lock and Dam No. 37, was completed in 1911. It was one of a series of wicket dams, which reduce the need to use the locks and allow ice and debris to pass through, built on the Ohio River by the U.S. government in the early twentieth century. The navigational lock for Fernbank dam was located on the Ohio side of the river near the community of Fernbank, which was annexed by Cincinnati in 1912. The lock and dam were torn out in 1962.
