Description	Effie Myers Fuhrman (1876-1941) amassed a large collection of letters between 1895 and 1898, of which these three are representative. As the youngest daughter of George and Elizabeth Myers, she was a member of one of Ashland's most prominent families. The family's business, the F.E. Myers and Brothers Company, manufactured farm implements and water pumps. They introduced the first double acting hand pump, which delivered water on both the up and down strokes of the pump handle. One letter, which measures approximately 8.5 by 11 inches (21.59 by 27.94 cm), was written by her future husband, Edgar, who worked in her family's business. Another, measuring 5.82 by 9.31 inches (14.8 by 23.65 cm), was sent by her young niece. The third letter, which is three pages long and 5 by 8 inches (12.72 by 20.12 cm), is from a friend who offers congratulations on Effie's 1898 marriage to Edgar Fuhrman.

Full Text	[corresponds to page one of letter from Ed to Effie Myers August 7, 1895] [F.E. Myers Co. stationary] Aug. 7th. '95. Miss Effie Myers, Pleasant Home, O. Dear Effie:--I take this opportunity of tel- ling you that two young men, who board at Rosebery's got thier hair cut.. Honest, they did. I received your letter all right.
