Description	These two program booklets were produced by the Fremont Matinee Musical Club, a women's group dedicated to the "improvement of its members in the various departments of music." One booklet is from the club's first year in 1895. Measuring 4 by 7 inches (10.16 by 17.78 cm), it is 6 pages long. It lists members, officers, committees, and performers for each of the monthly meetings. The second program, from 1897-1898, includes similar information, and also the constitution and bylaws of the club. It is 4.5 by 5.5 inches (11.43 by 13.97 cm) in size and 8 pages long. Membership in the club grew from 20 to 50 active members. Associate and student members numbered in the hundreds. Meetings were held on the second Wednesday of each month from October until June at members' homes in the club's early years. Later, the meetings were held at meeting rooms in Fremont, and finally at the high school. The club disbanded in 1935 due to declining membership. These booklets are part of a larger collection of materials related to the Matinee Musical Club available at the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center.
